Great place to grab a quick snack with the kids. Can walk the fries off with a walk along the Corner Brook Stream trails.
Central trails, washrooms and great parking. Playground for children and an under road tunnel to help avoid having to cross a busy street. Some trails are steep others follow a brook/stream.
We recently spent the day in Corner Brook had a FANTASTIC visit to Margaret Bowater park. First off, it was an incredible summer and sunny day (about 27 degrees Celsius). I grew up in Corner Brook but had it been back to this park in many years. I was delighted to see the fantastic landscaping and concession stand as well as changing/washroom. The concession stand had a multitude of items from fries to hotdogs to burgers as well as drinks and cold treats. The swimming area is set up great and there is a life guard on duty from 12pm to 8pm. There is a kiddies swimming area and the general area... Ladders or steps I to the water. One thing, this water is COLD. It's a steady flowing river that comes from higher elevations and is very old even in the hot days of summer... Refreshing!Through the tunnel (under the road) there is a great playground for the younger kids. Lots of seating around and picnic tables. Parking on both sides but not a lot on the playground side. Also, a great trail that you can connect both sides (just google corner brook trails).Highly recommend this area and will definitely be back to enjoy it.
Margaret Bowater Park Corner Brook is a wonderful park with numerous trails next to ponds and rivers with beautiful bridges. You can observe ducks and swans as well as similar animals. There are numerous banks where you can sit down and enjoy the beautiful views.
It's in the center of the city. Has 2 play areas for the kids. A shallow area for small children and a deep area for better swimmers. Lifeguards are on duty during the day and security guards at night. Has a beautiful walking trail.
